Love the B-52s, too.Rock Lobster, Private Idaho, Planet Claire, Love Shack...
May try to listen to songs I don’t know.

Lucinda Williams...anything she sings. She’s brilliant.

Sharing this one again:

Song: One More Light
Linkin Park
Album: One More Light
Producer: RAC, Brad Delson & Mike Shinoda
2017

"Who cares if one more light goes out
In the sky of a million stars?
It flickers, flickers
Who cares when someone's time runs out
If a moment is all we are?
We're quicker, quicker
Who cares if one more light goes out?
Well, I do"

And also these:

Song: Until the End
Breaking Benjamin
Album: Phobia
Producer: David Bendeth
2006

"Surround me, it's easy to fall apart completely
I feel you creeping up again (in my head)
It's over, no longer, I feel it growing colder
I knew this day would come to end
So let this life begin

Why give up? Why give in?
It's not enough, it never is
So I will go on until the end
We've become desolate
It's not enough, it never is
But I will go on until the end"

Song: The Mountain
Three Days Grace
Album: Outsider
Producer: Howard Benson & Gavin Brown
2018

"The higher I go, the harder I fall
So I don't look down, I don't look back at all
And when I wish it all would turn to black
I try to see the light and push the darkness back

Every day I'm just survivin'
Keep climbin' the mountain
Even when I feel like dyin'
Keep climbin' the mountain
Every time I think I'm over it
I wake up in the bottom of it all again
I'm still survivin', I keep climbin'
Keep climbin' the mountain"

Hi all,

Seeing as Jonesy so helpfully pointed me in this direction from my earlier post, I'll post a few things up here going forward :)

This is a softer song which is very emotive. It's one I listen to when pretty low and helps me to release those tears that just won't come at times.

Artist: Machine Head
Song: Deafening Silence
Album: Supercharger
Year: 2001
Producer: Machine Head & Johnny K.

Chorus:

See the pain in my eyes
See the scars deep inside
My God, I'm down in this hole again
With the laughter I smile
With the tears that I cry
Keep going down this road called life

And this song is their most recent release. Below are lyrics from the end of the song.

Artist: Machine Head
Song: My Hands Are Empty
Album: N/A (digital single)
Year: 2020
Producer: Robert Flynn & Zack Ohren

I, I will not hide these scars of mine
(Take away the shame)
I, I will not be what's left behind
(Find someone else to blame)
Forgiveness, constricted
No longer human
A ghost in time

Maybe not everyone's taste, but thought I'd share.

Crow
A little boy hides in an adult's disguise.
Quote taken from an original poem that I have written.
