Ave Maria

Post by Oceantide »

When you turned eight, I froze
No longer touching, holding, caressing you
Paralyzed, again, enraged
No way will this continue
Severing another generation
Of mother from daughter.
NO
F*NG
WAY
Help, I will find it, somehow
Something to reverse the force
The visceral repulsion
Pushing me away from you.
NO
F*NG
WAY
I despaired, utterly spent,
No f*ng way out.
Yet today, twelve years later
I held you in your despair
And the storm passed
And I made you scones, smoothies
And we embraced, tightly, touching.

Powerful words, Oceantide - I could somehow feel it when you wrote "and the storm passed". Thank you for sharing this. :)

Oh Oceantide, I feel this deep in my heart. And my heart aches. Did I push my children away? They mean the world to me. Can I reverse the curse? Can I be there for them now?

Ahhh, this one hit me in the feels.
