Today you are
22 years young
Back then
At the beach
I held you on my belly
Flesh on pudgy flesh
Softly breathing, heaving
Today you are
Leaving, no longer mine

A scar is the tattoo of a triumph to be proud of. It says the hurt is over and the wound is closed. It means you conquered the pain, learned a lesson, grew stronger, and moved forward. There is a beauty in my scars that I can see now.

Oceantide, my youngest (heart) child turns 22 this month. She is my precious Cinco de Mayo girl, as that’s the day she arrived, (as a foster child) and she could only speak Spanish at the time. Oh time flies too fast! Can we stop it? I absolutely Love this! Thanks for sharing!

Scars and invisible, thank you for your kind words. Resonating can feel bittersweet. Our love children. Feelings that defy language.

So bittersweet isn’t it? To see them grow up. It’s what they do! But the sweet memories…..they getcha right in the “feels”, don’t they?
