Being strong feels wrong
Because they said not to tell.
I am strong.
Telling is bad for me, they said.
That never made sense in my head.
I am strong.
I didn’t tell while they were around.
But now they’re gone, I want it out.
I am strong.
So afraid but want to be brave
Even if they’ll know I’ve told.
I am strong.
It’s time to be bold.
I’m grown up now.
I am strong.
This is my time.
I will be free.
I am strong
I will learn to forgive and love me.
I did nothing wrong.

I survived because I am strong.

Strong like the wind, the sun, the sea and the deep beautiful earth. Strong like the one you have always been waiting for.

A scar is the tattoo of a triumph to be proud of. It says the hurt is over and the wound is closed. It means you conquered the pain, learned a lesson, grew stronger, and moved forward. There is a beauty in my scars that I can see now.

I agree with you that Earthhorse writes beautifully. I think you do too. I can’t imagine how others see me. The idea is intimidating.
I’ll hold onto the idea that it’s a good thing sometimes. That would be nice.
