I really listened to the lyrics after my second hospitalization, and it just clicked for me. Every last lyric certainly didn’t apply, but quite a few of them did.

I guess the original meaning of the song is about greed and hedonism and arrogance and burnout. I can’t see it, because I can’t unsee the meaning I’ve given it myself. For me, well, it’s pretty spot on about being hospitalized for C-PTSD and dissociation and su.

There was something idk, comforting? I guess? in hearing what felt like metaphors to my experience at that time. I can feel a truth, a validation, to my experience when I listen to it.
