Dialog with Fear

Post by there »

Me, feeling a trigger catch in my throat: Hey, Fear?! Is that you!
Fear: It's not your Aunt Lois!.
Me: What are you doing here?
Fear: Oh...just lurking.
Me: Yeah, well there's no real emergency, so kiss off.
Fear: Oh, ha ha ha! That's funny!
Me: I mean it! I don't want to feel you right now! Deep breath! Deep breath!
Fear: Um, you do realize that emotions are part of you, yes?
Me: I've felt waaay too much of you for one lifetime. Or several lifetimes!
Fear: Yeah, well, that's the deal.
Me: Glad to hear it. I don't need your protection right now. I've been feeling you more than enough lately!
Fear: (Yawns). It HAS been getting kinda repetitive, answering your triggers all the time. Tell you what. I'm gonna take a break. You won't have to feel me for a while,ok?
Me:Whatever, fine by me.
Fear: Hey, Feelings! Joy, Sorrow, Anger! There's a lot of space over here! Somebody wants to feel you!!!

I love this, there. I love the dialogue format, the energy (it feels energetic to me) and the insight too.

The only place I ever feel at home...."

Paper and Oceantide,
thank you both.
It came from a real moment.
I get tired of that visitor, Fear. Visit, I say, but it's really inside of me. Visit to my awareness?

And maybe in subsequent vignettes, the other emotions mentioned might show up, hmmm.

Thank you so much for reading and replying!
