I think, knowing children it would likely be a normal stick from a tree. Something unremarkable and not significant but still needing repair.

yea kids are like that my daughter had a tug of war with a dog over a stick few years ago. The stick was bigger than both of them she won and still has the stick.

Just a regular stick, but they are all special to her. She's 8, and is a stick connoisseur.

My kids like to collect sticks but that's because we have a shredder. There is something facinating about watching the little wood chunks fly.

My daughter would never stop crying if we shredded her sticks. She did turn the bulk of her stick collection into a bug hotel in the garden, which has at least reduced the effect of sticks and stones being a decorative motif in my house.

She might go for making a Dryad shrine out of some. She has been very enthusiastic about tinkering and making things out of random household junk lately so that would really appeal to her. I like this idea. I will suggest it to her.
