Meeting Little Me.

Travel to the darkest corner of your head and find her.
Huddled in a corner, hers the only light for miles.
It's still there, though it flickers somewhat.
She's so small. Bruised and bleeding.
She'll flinch as you approach her.
Go to her anyway. Do it gently.
Remember you inflicted some of those wounds.
Take her, small and shaking into your arms and hug her.
Until her breath steadies, until the tears dry.
Help her stand and face the onslaught of enemies ahead of her.
And promise to never again join their ranks.
She is you, you're the only friend she has here.
Take your wand and cast your patronus.
Be the force that tries to banish the darkness instead of bringing it.
She has so many fights ahead, don't make her fight you too.
You sister is in those frightened eyes.
You could never bear to see her scared.
Don't fear the child in the dark, love her.
Protect her with the same force you protect any other child with.
Model bravery so that she might learn.
Help her build her armour.
So she can defeat the army sent to destroy her.

Thank you Booklover! That's really kind of you. It's taken me a long time to find my voice though, and I can only do it in writing. Honestly, I am horrendously bad at speaking I'm sure your writing is brilliant, any way that you can express yourself is beautiful!

I know this was posted a while back , but I am reading through looking for strength and insight ..this is both ! I recently read" the body keeps the score ' and was drawn to the speaking with the you as you were then parts..I believe he called them something different I cant exactly remember when ever I think of that little girl ,my mind shuts down . I so want to understand how to be open to this .
