Parents - A Poem (lots of profanity)

Post by Macfeegle »

Fuck the twisting words you've driven in my heart,
And fuck the innuendos that barely left a mark.
Fuck the hidden meanings barbed within your words,
And fuck all that you've spoken, and fuck all that I heard.

Fuck the axe you've wielded, while smiling in my face,
And fuck the scars you left behind that never left a trace.
Fuck the expectations, the failures all were yours',
And fuck the lessons taught me, to answer right was worse.

Fuck you as you raised me the way that you had meant,
And fuck you for your effort, it was incompetent.
Fuck you for your choices, they served you more than me,
And fuck you 'til the end of time & fuck you 'til I'm free.

[Moderators: I hope that in this context the profanity isn't a problem. If so, I apologize!]

A therapist I had when I was younger once told me, "sometimes profanities are the only words that will do" and I've always believed that to be accurate.
This poem resonated with me! Thank you for sharing!!

My counselor was the first to validate my angry feelings. And she did it preemptively. And she did it with profanity. It was incredibly helpful.

Thanks for this.

I'm sensing there's quite a bit of anger between you and your parents. it's just giving me the idea to work on posting something later that I found during my time in prison.

I will admit though there are times when I feel that way about my own family. I only hope that sharing this poem has helped you to get out a little bit of the anger you feel, and hopefully helps you to feel a little bit better.
