Joe has given me permission to share with you a poem he has wrote about Lori.

Fly up.

Fly up, my beautiful lovebird, fly

And give help to those in Heaven's sky

You're safe from all your foes and fans

Your family and those who understand

Fly up, true love of mine

And give your soul to those that cry

They felt your sadness and your pain

On the day that brought tears of rain

Fly up and look down on those you have saved

Whose lives you have bettered and roads they have paved

Hundreds of people will mourn many years

Compassion given back in the form of their tears

Fly up, Lori Schmitt, a true lady, indeed

Watch after your members, whose hearts do now bleed

They loved you so deeply, they hurt like the rest

They will watch you fly up and will wish you the best

Fly up and look down on the world as they share

In your last days on Earth as a human so rare

The kind of person who if you asked, for you she'd die

I cannot wait to fly up and be with you in Heaven's sky

I'm still reeling since I just found out about Lori's passing. She never ever wasn't there with all of herself, patient, kind, supportive, caring and trustworthy. She was so gentle with those of us who were terrified. Such a beautiful person.

The world feels different without her.
