I like the song 'Cruel Summer' by Bananarama. I like the version by Swedish band, Ace of Base.

the theme is unhappiness, but the music, to me, lifts you above that. It makes me want to dance to it--- even better.

Cruel Summer is good. Remember there was that whole slew of "girl groups" in, was it the 80's? Must have been. I liked them all. Bangles, etc.

Ok, reaching here, but how about Beethoven's Ode to Joy (9th Symphony)? If you read German or get the translation, the lyrics are just awesome. LIstening to the music while the lyrics play can put me on another planet.

Today, for sum reason, have snippets of JCS runnin thru my head, specifically the song that goes sumtin like:

To not to get worried,
Try not to <sumtinsumtin>
Problems that upset ya
Then later:
Close ysr eyes
Close yer eyes
Let the world do w out ya t' nite
Let the stars shine <sumtin> tnite

Its alrite, its alrite...

So, whatever that song is, & bits of ... i always called it 'harods song', but ill spare ya the lyrics, cuz im pretty sure ive (wo)mangled em worse than t^that^ one

I have a song that I'm listening to that in some aspects reminds me of my late great nana.. but in other ways she wouldn't want me sad and would want me to take these lyrics and really listen, learn and understand and use them to help. She was a great inspiration even in her final moments, having us laughing...

Anyway... Over to the song

Artist: Israel Kamakawiwoʻole
Song: Over the Rainbow
Album: Ka 'Ano'i
Released: 1990
Recorded: 1989 (K'A); 1988 (FF)

The particular lines I'm really loving...

Someday I wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That's where you'll find me

Just love it. One day I'll be there and I hope all can join me :-)

Yesterday was listening to Tom Petty. So many great songs. Free Fallin’, Runnin’ Down a Dream, Refugee, Here Comes My Girl.
