Hi gods_child,

Love it. Bold and true to who you are what you believe.
I've only 'known' you a short while, but have learned a lot about you from the chat room... this spoke volumes :)

Roseglasses, is what I would always have on, rose colored glasses, I pretended to not see the bad that was happening. Plus I really like roses and I wear glasses.
You are strong enough to face it all, even if it doesn't feel like it right now.

Hi roseglasses,

I like it :) seeing the good in things can be a good thing. But I guess that wasn't exactly what you meant though.
Either way, it's a nice name!

The reason I initially chose chess girl, is one that I cannot reveal. It could possible give away my identity so I won’t explain that. I’m not some great chess player, although my grandfather was and he taught me how to play as a young girl. Chess is symbolic to life in many ways. Life and My journey of healing requires patience and strategy. Every move is so important for the end goal. You may have to sacrifice certain things in order to succeed. You are fighting against the enemy and you can’t be distracted with what they are doing. In the game, you need focus and strength. I love chess as a symbol. I felt it was fitting for me for numerous reasons ♟

Me not drowning......
I thought to myself what am I doing right now, tryingtostayafloat from allowing my critcic to block the light from the black hole I was in.

I don't wanna be swallowed again, it's like I'm finally free.
I still sit in the hole but I can see the light, sometimes it 's really far away but it's there.

I have a painting related to it but it's unfinished like most of my paintings.

I LOVE this thread.

I'm a relatively young and pretty religious girl. I respect people of many backgrounds and have friends from all over. At the same time, there is comfort knowing that people understand you, your culture, your background - in my case, as someone who went through a ton yet stayed frum (religious). It's something I'm proud of. Took tons of work. Still does.
I still struggle a lot with the concept of a Higher Power, but at the same time it can be very comforting. It's a huge struggle to connect with a Higher Power... and I'm proud of where I am in spite of all the pain and suffering in my life.
If this triggers anyone, I'm sorry... I love you all and very much respect your paths, and hope you can on some level relate to mine.

Hi Tryingtostayafloat,

I like it. And a constant reminder to keep going too. :)

As for the paintings... when you finish some, maybe if you like email Jonesy and have some of them put in the member art area...

Hi FrumSurvivor,

Thank you for sharing! I hadn't realised what 'frum' meant until you said here. (I had seen from some of your previous posts that you are Jewish, but didn't know that word meant something specific.)
I have to say I do understand the comfort in a God. It's also confusing at times too.
I'm glad that despite all that you have been through you have kept your faith. :)
