Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had books they can recommend for building self esteem or help with boundaries and assertiveness for survivors? Has there been any that helped you through when you felt like you had 0% self confidence or feeling like you're in the dumps?

Thank you =)

Anything with DBT is supposed to help with all of what you mentioned. You can order the workbooks and try on your own or online or find a therapist that has a dbt program even.
There's also an author, Brene Brown, who has written some great books on the subject of self help, living whole heartedly.

I would recommend the following on trauma and healing:

Pete Walker - Complex PTSD From Surviving to Thriving
John Bradshaw - Homecoming
John Bradshaw - Healing The Shame That Binds You
Ellen Bass - The Courage to Heal

Hope they are of some use to you

Brene brown? She's an author. It's not self help but she talks about shame.

Just finished "The Rescued Soul: The Writing Journey for the Healing of Incest and Family Betrayal," by Christina Enevoldsen. Found a lot of helpful stuff in this one.
