Sir Cary,

Thank you so very much. I believe every word you have written and the source from which your success has come-unconditional love.

I too have written a manuscript and just now got off the phone with a publishing house. It's not ready yet as I have not reached the top of the mountain-but I can see the top! Very exciting and scary at the same time.

I'm also writing a monolouge, have some amateur stage experience.

Just trying to wrap my head around exposing myself and the consequences that entails.
Your post about believing in miracles was/is timely, accurate and validating to me. Thank you so very much.
If you are interested in paying it forward, as I am, perhaps you would chat a bit about the publishing experience and any fall out from that?

And yes Sir,
Healing is for real. :D :D :D :D

Healing is hard work. I can vouch for that. But when at last the day came and I reached the top of the mountain, I could hardly believe it. I saw the promised land--I was becoming the person I was always meant to be. I felt confident and at peace.

Life is good. It is good to be alive and here right now. You can climb the mountain.

There are many paths to healing, and I probably took the most difficult path. I gained many insights here. For me, the key was understanding the meaning of my flashbacks. I wanted to know the how and why. I read several books, and I began writing in a journal. I then collected my writings as a memoir, which I later published.

I have now come full circle. Several people have helped me, and I in turn want to pay it forward.

Welcome to the healing path, mustard seed. Healing is for real.

Sir Cary

Hello Mr. Tough and Tender,

I am still climbing that healing mountain. Have fallen down several times but get back up and keep climbing because why? I am beginning to fully believe that I really AM worth it! As a human being I deserve life, and love, and healing. Not just to know things on an intellectual level but to experience healing on an emotional level as well. To become free from my abusive past. As you say 'to come full circle'. I would like to obtain a copy of your published writings if I may. Thank you for stopping by!

Sheep

And Sam,

Thank you for your inspiring post! I am an old timer as well but just in a different place in my healing. Hoping to one day come to a place of peace.

Thanks for sharing,

Sheep

MS,

Thank you and I am delighted to make your acquaintance.

That's great that you have written a manuscript. I would definitely like to talk about the writing experience with you. I was wondering if you are using a pen name for your manuscript or using your real name. I ask because there are pros and cons with either approach.

My memoir is actually a dual memoir, combining my late father's writings and my own. My father had a number of published short articles and a chapter in a book for which I obtained permission to reprint. I also found a number of unpublished articles as I was going through his papers. I learned that these were stories that he had intended to make into a memoir of his own, so I am basically just finishing a process he had started. Because he had passed away, I decided to use our real names as co-authors. I am OK with that also because of the story I wanted to tell. I can imagine other instances in which I would have used a pen name instead.

The memoir is my second book, and it was self-published. My first book (unrelated to the second one) was published conventionally through a publishing house. Self-publishing a book is like being a writer, producer, and director all in one. It takes a bit of work to do.

Perhaps we could talk further?

Sir Cary

Sheep,

How nice to see you again.

You are worth it, Sheep. You are.

As you say, it is different to experience healing on an emotional level as opposed to an intellectual level. You will get there, Sheep. It will happen.

I would be glad to provide information to you about my book so that you can obtain a copy. I will contact Jonesy about this so that we will maintain anonymity here on isurvive. I will get something worked out.

Thank you, Sheep, for posting to me. I look forward to writing to you soon about the book.

Sir Cary (aka Tough and Tender)

Sheep!!! Hi!
Cary...thank you as always, and never apologize for that to me...I am glad you were here to help whomever needs it! You are a wealth of wisdom my friend 8-) I too have been thinking more and more about writing.
Mustard seed I do like mr green for some reason ;) not sure why!
I can't go back and see what else I wanted to reply to...sorry if I missed anyone in my tiredness, it's 1 am here and I'm just getting off a long shift of keeping adults from doing stupid things. My brain is fried for the night.
