Mountain Climbing.

Darling believe me, nobody scaled Everest in a day.
And your mountain is so much taller.
You run on empty, then get frustrated for going slower than you want to.
When did you last breathe?
Or stop to take in the view from where you are on the mountain you are up against?
This is not a race.
The mountain isn't moving anywhere.
It will not leave you behind.
It's only you that wants to run before you can walk.
Just sit a while and rest.
Let the stars take first watch and close your heavy eyes.
It will still be here when you wake.
And if this mountain takes you a lifetime to reach the top.
Then a lifetime it will take.
And the harshest critic of your end time is you.
But remember that when Edmund Hillary reached his peak, he wasn't scaling it with broken limbs.
So be a little more gentle.
You'll heal faster with kindness than with hate.
You're on the mountain anyway, and up is the only path.
Rather you reach the end a little later, than to fall before you see it.
