The Water Calls for me.....

I wrote this during one of the last times I was able to independently visit my favorite nature spot. It was also just before I learned about PTSD and DID, though of course had been struggling with it for years.

The Water calls for me: It feels like Home.

The vastness and openness,
The stillness, the waves.
The shallow getting deeper.

I watch in mesmerized silence,
holding back, yet longing to dive in.

Hiding in the trees - only peaking from time to time,

From the safety of the shore.
