Up in the clouds

Post by Chessgirl »

Sorry these need work but I’ve been writing a lot lately just to take my mind off things and make sense of my feelings

You want to join me?
Up in the clouds
On my magic carpet
Away from all the crowds

If I could take you with me
Like your guide, I would lead
To escape and flourish
Way up where you cannot bleed

Looking down, we’d point and laugh
Thankful we won’t feel those burns
Untouched we would be, by all we’d see
And never we would return

So please come on board
Float away with me
For I don’t want to leave alone
You with me, is all I’ll need
Up in the clouds, our peaceful zone

Please don't apologise. Poetry is personal to each individual..I've certainly found that writing helps me process memories and feelings. Keep it up!

I almost sense that this one was written through the eyes and mind of little you... speaking to all the hurt children hidden here. Or, that is my interpretation.

It does seem to have a child-like perspective. Yes this was one of a few I wrote when I was going through a funk and trying to stay away from alcohol . I’m not totally impressed with them but its truly just therapeutic and helpful. I think everyone should dabble in poetry. I’ve been reading my grandmothers poems. They are so good. I’ll have to share some. She put them in a little book for me before she passed. Crow I love your encouragement! Thank you!

I have had a look at your grandmother's poems Chessgirl. She had a talent.
