Re: Fleur's 2019 Thread
Wow. So many messages. Thank you one and all.
Ecstatic to be able to report that I have a dress. Was more than I expected to spend. Very plain. Lady who sold it suggested wearing bracelet. I don't have jewellery. So, I bought some braid from another place just to go above gathered wrists. Fits my criteria regarding high neck, long sleeves, floor length, room for thermal gear and sufficient fabric to cover the bulges, easily put up foot. Burnt orange. Didn't want black, white, pastel shades. Limited stock in my size - XL Asian fitting. Plenty of other styles, colours were I a smaller framed woman
NN, you have my empathy about difficulty in finding appropriate garments for special occasions
There - you asked about children. It is a church requirement that anyone who potentially could be alone with a child, must have a current card. I enjoy helping with various child based activities, hence need to be covered
Am extremely tired. Have requested a taxi meet train - buses cease after 8pm. I'll be arriving about 10:30. Very thankful for a comparatively mild night
Really appreciate everyone's input and thoughts
Just wondering whether others are not seeing all notifications of new posts to which they are subscribed? I'm receiving some but not as many as usual
Wishing you a very safe night/day

Hi Fleur,
I see that you mentioned not receiving notification emails, so I looked into it. I think I've found the solution, but could you please keep me posted so I know if it worked or not?
Glad to read that you found a dress that fit your criteria!
With care,
Serenity

Hi Fleur,
Just dropping by, have been following your shopping for the church event. Honestly, the clothing aspect does nothing for me, but I appreciate your calm, determined, and gentle prose as you describe the details of a very practical but clearly important process.
I hope your morning? is a good one, or your day, at least!
Be well!

Hello EasyStreet
Have met few men who appreciate clothes shopping. I haven't been for years. Was getting frustrated as date loomed closer. As it was, where I purchased, was enjoyable as staff really knew their stock and were truly helpful. Another shop owner (male) was excellent. I'd return there if I wanted a maxi every day outfit because quality was very high standard with relatively low price tags. However, the only item that caught my eye yesterday as a formal gown was well over my budget, even as I acknowledged that online similar clothing was much more expensive.
Thank you for writing. May you have a day full of good moments after sweet dreams.

Hi Fleur,
I hate shopping for clothes. Even casual, everyday stuff is getting harder to find. I guess that's mostly because the things that are "in style" right now don't appeal to me at all - lol. It's good that you found shops that had what you were looking for, and also had friendly, helpful salespeople. It's always nice to find those types of places. Hope things are going well for you.

Thank you NN
I wholeheartedly agree with you regarding alleged fashion
That's why I tend to hold onto clothes until they really are raggedy
Going into one place, where Islamic and Catholic traditional Asian items are available, I noticed several outfits for $20-60 that I would wear for every day. Something to remember. Closer to home, there's a seamstress who customises clothing; provided fabric etc is supplied, she only charges $50 for an uncomplicated dress
I have not given my wardrobe a make over in years; choosing timeless garments can be a blessing
You do have my empathy NN because although I'm over 60, I don't want to dress as either elderly or pretend I'm still in my 20s... it is difficult
Much caring

Re: Fleur's 2019 Thread
What a fortnight!
Medical issues ahead ....
Been in lowest ebb that I've had for long time. Recurrent bouts of gastro .. not eating much and have not kept up fluid intake
Lots of tests. Was contagious. In and out of hospital. No real answers. Plod along
Very embarrassed yesterday - art teacher asked to use bathroom, but it was filthy, so she didn't
Dad is in palliative care
Think this will be final hospital trip for him
Blood transfusion didn't help
Has pneumonia
Not responding to treatment
Major organ failure
He's achieved out living all his family
Brother plans to fly from interstate
I'm not intending to visit. Said my farewell long ago
Supposedly MH admission to different hospital in September - see if it pans out
Oh, I worked on the cottage iron roof - rusty and weathered. Looking more like an old abandoned dwelling
Not in good space
Thank you for reading
