I didn't mean to imply you were ignoring the ones here. Just that sometimes when we feel the sadness of this I find the moment to say what can "I" do about this.

Our staff did a book club this summer. It was on being more productive on doing "fewer things better". It was good to step back and look at what we do. How much we want to save and serve yet we can't we just cant be heros to everyone. And we cannot make up for the shortcomings of society of the community of their families. We can't do it all. But we can do our jobs and do them well and with compassion. We can love them, and let go when we can't fix it. ( As in the two little ones who are now in the foster care system) so I'm learning myself to be my best and let go of the rest. I can't fix the world. But I can control myself .

BTW the book is totally written for teachers from a teacher perspective but it really about making the choices to be the next and happiest version of you in doing the things that matter to you and prioritizing life in a way that leaves you feeling satisfied not just worn out.

I didn't think you implied that. Could just be my guilt reflex?!
That book sounds great!

It's called "Fewer Things Better" by Angela Watson. It has a lot of good advice. Like I said definitely geared towards teachers and talks to them a lot but still has a ton of good advice for anyone

coconuts, as a teacher, I could benefit from that. Thanks for the book title.

Sister capable of hurting me. I’m capable of letting it go. I don’t need anyone’s permission to be anything.
I really think you have to suffer deeply to see the truth. The truth is, she will never deeply understand me. She can’t be as deep as I am. Or as broad, for that matter.
In a way, i’m Lucky to have suffered so much. I really can never drown in the shallow end of life. I will always have great depth inside me to be in.
I’m lucky to be me, no matter what.

I love this. You can never be shallow. It sucks to have to experience pain to realize true empathy. Its so hard. I hope you always remain as wonderful and thoughtful as you are.

Thank you, coconuts, couragetoday, easyStreet.
I'm wonderful and thoughtful? I appreciate that, coconuts.
Weekend half over. Very tired. Hope tomorrow's better. Thanks, couragetoday.
Easy Street, yeah, there's just really no turning back.

Back in apartment after long flight.
A bit tearful. Will do my best to not think too much, esp. About Family and unfairness.

Practicing presence will help this evening.
Thanks for reading and for being here.

Here with you as you settle in back home. I hope you find peace in the youness that is there.

Comparison rarely does us much good. Typically it looks more like picking up the old beatup stick and having a few wacks. .. so hand it over chica...✋ None of that now

And if these actually show up... Here are some welcome home flowers... 💐

*mild profanity warning*

Oh, I know about comparisons, thanks, coconuts.
It's not even that. It's not something I think.
Everybody expects me to be so nice, when they haven't been to me.
There are some things I like about my place.
My grandmother's globe lamp, her 2 paintings, the wall hanging of trees, the stars and clouds hanging I created over the bed.

I know you're trying to be positive. I appreciate that.
I just don't freaking care to try right now.
