Feeling a little sad about Dad, mortality in general.

Will it help the sadness to share something about your dad that you took in as your own?
My youngest daughter has my naturally oppositional personality trait.
And my other daughter has my practical, realistic view of the world.
Tell me anything you want to about your dad. Or just let the sadness be. I hear that is part of grieving, just to let the feelings be what they are and they will pass.
I always wanted a dad who would let me sit on his lap and fall asleep when I was young.

Hoping the conversation with your brother was good.

I consciously do some things, say some things like my Dad to keep him near me. Last night, I said one of his' favorites. "Are you ready, Hezzy?"
He used to say this all the time before we started something. "Hezzy" was a member the Hoosier Hot Shots. They were an amusing band from the 1940s or so. "Give us a toot on the tooter, Tommy!", was Hezzy's reply, my dad told me in later years. They're even on YouTube.

I miss him so much. I know it's okay to feel sad. I do feel sad. I miss him so much.

I have slowly been making a CD of Dad's favorite songs to give to all his Friends and family. The CDs are done. I just have to finish the CD covers, print them, buy jewel cases, and assemble everything. Dad's birthday will be in July. Hope to have it done by then to send out.

I wore Dad's Penn State baseball cap to T on Friday.

Btw, when I was getting my haircut yesterday, a stylist told my stylist that she had seen a wolf the same morning. The conversation about wolves then happened.

I admire your ability to feel that sadness.
We talked briefly about grief in T yesterday.
I just don't know how to grieve and the thought scares me.
But I need to learn because I know I need to grieve my childhood...
Do you know of any good books / personal stories about the process?

I can't watch movies with death or loss in them. Just too powerful for me at this point.

Honoring our passed loved ones is so important. I'm trying to do that with my grandparents.
So hard though...
