Loving hazelnuts
Sorry this is so silly. I don't know where else to put this. It's not directly related to anything, really. I just love eating hazelnuts. I have a handful of them next to the laptop right now. In my native language they are called "forest nut". I recall a time, long ago, when I came upon a tree of hazelnuts in a forest or something like a forest. A hazelnut tree is magical to look at. The way each nut is held and protected

Harmony, Nice to meet you too!
...Filberts? Strange name. I imagine a Mr. Filbert - an uptight proper English gentleman in a tux and a proper Victorian era hat. Not the image of hazelnuts that brings comfort to mind. Hehe
there, cool. How long do you roast them for and at what temperature? Have you tried soaking and sprouting almonds? They double in size and taste so much better...
Fleur, Hi. Are those the chocolates in the shape of seashells?
I don't collect, just purchase a box for $4 once a month.
I think we won't have as much food diversity in the future... so I'm trying to enjoy these foods now while I can.

Re: Loving hazelnuts
p.s.: There - it appears that almonds contain enzymes that make the body unable to properly digest all the nutrients they offer, if they are eaten in their natural state. So soaking and sprouting allows all of their goodness to be released. They do taste amazing roasted though!

Hello ChipmunksRunFree
$4 for a box once a month seems small investment but all in the scale of economy
I agree that food diversity is dropping, despite the range of imports increasing
Yes, the Belgian Sea Shells -I have expensive tastes
Thank you for sharing about almonds as they are in the muesli I sometimes have for breakfast.
Cheers
