I didn't freak out, and that's a big accomplishment

Post by BlueNeon »

A small, big things occurred to me some hours ago. I was talking about my abuser with my partner, I asked him to check his socials to see what he's doing in life and eventually to write his employer to let him know about the pending criminal process. I talked about it in a calm, reasonable way, I didn't feel any bad emotion and after we changed the topic, I totally forgot about him.
It's the first time in eleven years that I can talk or think about him without having a huge crisis of some kind. Kudos to me!

Hey BlueNeon

That really does sound like you are due a huge round of applause - testament to your hard work.
And how fabulous that you have someone close to share all this with and to help you with the processing.
You are important

Thank you, Jonesy. It really meant a lot to me.
You're right, I'm really lucky about this --he's the only good thing in my life, right now. I'd be completely alone without him.

That's fabulous that you felt safe to talk about it and safe to let it go. What strength within you now. And how great to have support with you.

BlueNeon,
That’s great news! It’s a milestone, for sure.
Glad you were feeling calm about the subject when talking with your partner.
