A Mother's Wish

Post by Blue Orchid »

I wrote this for my kids, but I've also been using it as a way of offering compassion to my younger parts:

Let me swaddle your heart in a cloud
Wash your face with gentle rain
And wrap your skinned knee in sunlight.

I will brighten your darkness with a flash
And thunder at your enemies
But blow you kisses with the breeze.

I will stand solid beneath you
Enfold you in the womb of earth’s life
That you may be born again and again.
"Promise me you'll always remember: you're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." ~A.A. Milne

Beautiful, ineffable. Thank you for sharing this with us, Blue Orchid, your kids (inside and outside) are fortunate to have you as a mother.

So beautiful BlueOrchid
Thank you for your beautiful words.
As oceantide said, ineffable indeed.

in·ef·fa·ble
adjective
too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words.
