It's something I was taught as a child. It's about the vibration of breath blown across the blade of grass which is stretched and held lengthwise between cupped palms. The breath is almost like a finger on a guitar string. The blade of grass vibrates from the breath crossing it. The cupped hands make the vibration resonate.

Pulling up a long enough blade of grass... ready... squeeeeak!!!!!

Hi everyone

What I was thinking about first was those daisies with thick fleshy stems

The daisies with thin stems need twisting around sort of like wire

We can "cheat" by using thin string to hold flowers in place. Hold the stems gently so they don't break, twist one stem around another until 3-4 are in a line, before running out of the first stem. Then tie string just tightly enough to stay in place, leaving a tail about the length of a stem and wind string a few times in a spiral, then use string and more daisy stems together to twist until long enough to make circle , cut string a stem's length to then tie to the first tail




For grown up people who want to make pretty bunches, a help is the thin wire inside some grocery closures (called twist ties in Australia) to keep stems in place
