    "1800RESPECT is the national sexual assault, domestic and family violence counselling service." They offer support to people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, sexual assault, domestic or family violence, their friends and family, and professionals. The website also offers the ability to search for support services by state and/or category.

  • Australian Institute of Family Studies
    "We are the Australian Government's key research body in the area of family wellbeing. We conduct research to increase the understanding of Australian families and the issues that affect them." Current projects include research into issues relating to sexual violence.
  • Blue Knot Foundation - National Centre of Excellence for Complex Trauma
    "Blue Knot Foundation is a thought, policy and practice leader in both clinical and trauma-informed responses to complex trauma. We provide short-term phone counselling support, information, resources, tools and workshops to help survivors and their friends, families, partners and loved ones live better lives." Information on trauma and its impact is available on the website for survivors and supporters. The helpline is staffed by trained, trauma-informed counsellors who can offer short-term professional counselling support, information, referrals to experienced health practitioners and support with applications to the National Redress Scheme.

    "Bravehearts is Australia's leading child protection organisation. Bravehearts now employs over 65 people across Australia providing world-class child protection training and education initiatives; specialist child sexual assault counselling and support services; as well as research and reform campaigns to work holistically to prevent child sexual assault in our society." Counselling is available for children, adult survivors and non-offending family members, as well as advocacy and support.

  • Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria
    "The Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria (DVRCV) is a state-wide resource centre working to prevent and respond to family violence, with a particular focus on men's violence against women in intimate relationships. We provide training, publications, research and other resources to those experiencing (or who have experienced) family violence, and practitioners and service organisations who work with family violence survivors." Help and advice for various groups of people is available on the website as well as the ability to search for support services throughout Australia.

    Survivors of Incest Anonymous offers a self-help twelve-step recovery program for adult survivors of child sexual abuse. They define incest and child abuse broadly, and provide general information, including on how to start a new support group.

  • Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse Trust (MSSAT) Aotearoa
    MSSAT's focus is to build "a sustainable national network of support services for male survivors." There are regional service centres which offer various services including one-to-one and peer support, counselling and/or referrals, advocacy and information. A 24/7 sexual harm helpline is provided by Safe to Talk and is available by phone, text, online chat and email.
