hi i have never written a thread in here but today i read a great article i want to share. it is called "Understanding Integration" by Rachel Downing, L.C.S.W.-C and can be found by googling it or on the Sidran Institute website. it helped me a great deal to read it. she is someone who recovered from DID and now is a therapist. wonderful i recommend it for those with and without DID.

Hi recover,

I am starting to read the article, with my dictionary in my hand of course.
I hope it's not a problem to quote a little of it here.

Essentially, integration is fully embracing each and every part/aspect of myself.
Full acceptance allows greater self-control and choices.

Yes, I feel each day that I need to accept how I am, instead of trying to cure or change myself. Including all that happened to me in my whole life, I have to accept what the world is at this moment.
