My Joy List

pink sunsets,
candy cigarettes,
a belly laugh
a photograph
stars at night
scars from a righteous fight



a purring cat
a party hat
tears that cleanse
rules that bend
an orange moon
a whistled tune

the warmth of your hand
bare feet in sand
the river's flow
angels of snow


a gentle breeze
a pile leaves
the smell of rain,
the end of pain
