My Memories:

A flash of colour
A silhouette
A texture
A piece of flesh

A pain in the stomach
A pain in the neck
Aching teeth
Aching back

A stab of fear
On high alert
Run for your life
It’s going to hurt

Pain and pressure
The smell of blood
In places that
Were untouched

Stomach turning
Gasping for breath
Knowing you have
Nothing left

A hand gripping tight
Around your arm
Feet rising
Off the ground

Back arching
Thumb bent back
Panic rising
Scared to death

A catch in your throat
At the sight of a belt
The coldness of
Hitting a bath

Innocent questions
From the voice of a child
Innocent and with
Nothing to hide

Then you see
The hidden meanings
A sudden revelation
Overwhelms your being
These memories are
All parts of a whole
These memories are
All parts of your soul
