Hello iSurvive folk

Middle of last year, started writing to a gentleman, let's call him Clark. We met in person briefly then kept corresponding. Have seen him a few times this holiday season. Like him very much as a friend who happens to be male. Clark makes me think, smile, laugh and we can share silence - so pretty special. He lives interstate, so will be sporadic meetings, although we write most days, sometimes a few times a day

Now that I am this side of treatment, I can understand Dr being worried. I didn't feel particularly sick but know that I was more ill than I suspected - maybe I'm not such a hypochondriac after all, smile

Have read about sepsis, septicemia, or blood poisoning - grateful for my basically healthy lifestyle as it could have been much worse

Nurses continue visiting twice weekly. Downside is that late morning can mean 1pm visit. I know they are busy and cannot be accurate when they'll be here, but it is kind of annoying, so I'll resume looking after everything as soon as one particular site heals

Dietitian has registered me with a company so I can have liquid supplement (high protein, along with minerals, vitamins) at around half retail cost. I await first delivery this week

Likely to take several months for my body to resume functioning at a more "normal" - that is, healthy, level - with storage capacity filled

Missing Soxy. Shall contact sister after today's appointment when, hopefully, shall have better idea about immediate future re hospital and other medical treatment

Continue seeing pdoc on regular basis. Haven't made another time for T - after all the fuss in November, wanted to wait until life settled and I was more certain of keeping appointment

Bye for now

Thank you recover for your thoughtful message

Saw a different specialist today at same hospital clinic. He has some ideas he'd like to confirm via blood work - more tests in ten days then a few weeks later. There are a few treatment options if he is correct - if not, we can do still more checks

Felt heard. He was late by half an hour, but understandably as my "15 minutes" stretched to over half an hour.

See him again in six weeks - makes month disappear (!)

Had two women discuss my insurance application today. My appointment is 18th. I wrote a draft. They added and changed a few things but basically I can transcribe to the document being presented Friday week

See dentist, pdoc tomorrow. Early start for me again. Not looking forward to being in stinky city

Good night

Fleur,
hope you're done with appts. in the 'stinky city', and that they went well.
You remind me I have to make dental appt.

Very good to read that you 'felt heard' by the specialist.

Thank you there for being here

.......

Got to see GP about dental treatment. Dentist being cautious - to have preventive antibiotics if Dr thinks necessary or a letter of clearance to enable dental work done without. After that, I can reschedule appointment with dentist

Saw pdoc. New inpatient program for EMDR available. Await details

Looking forward to having a massage tomorrow (Friday)

Yesterday "Clark" and I had lunch in city. He returns home Monday. Enjoyed being with him but if asked, I'd not want to be around him all the time. Tends to repeat himself and although we agree on human rights and other concerns, we are poles apart in other areas of life. Friendship only offered and accepted - really special to be accepted as is. I respect him and think he is a very caring, considerate person

Had agency lady visit. Very easy to chat about MH and other health issues. I'm to think about how best to assist myself as well as my aims, goals, aspirations in life. She is going to research potential places to volunteer, enjoy social activity, where used furniture can be found for low cost. I need book storage and a big linen cupboard

This woman helped me to understand my financial budget by simply listing all utilities, rent etc, against income - sounds silly but I haven't taken inventory since moving 14 months ago

My dishes are up to date, washing on line, empty baskets (ie I've put away clean stuff) and bed is tidy. Now, I have some talking to myself to tackle boxes, bags in front room. Pdoc said a half box or a few items at a time. Of course, she's right .... Big sigh

Phoned about shoe repairs and ordered supplies as requested by nurse from their stockist; half the retail price

Meds changed to half as much again for next fortnight and see what happens. Bought a pill cutter

Apologies for saying the next paragraph to those people who smoke .....

I opened doors, windows today to let in sunshine and breeze. Then closed everything a little later due to cigarette smoke drifting in from people smoking between the units. Sprayed lavender to kill the smell. I feel sad that the residents have resumed smoking as they have a child who coughs - and they are hurting their own health and savings for a home - and on my behalf. At least, they no longer smoke inside their place. (Get the addictive quality, etc)

Am grateful for having iSurvive folk hear me without judging me - you accept me as I am, as does Clark, and I'm learning that is not only special but also healing because I am finally beginning to accept myself as being okay as is, yet desiring changes

Thank you iSurvive family

Fleur,
Wow! You're really moving ahead with medical and dental care. Are you thinking of going inpatient again, so you can do EMDR? I haven't heard of an inpatient EMDR program here. It's offered in individual appointments. Would miss you if you went in hospital, but would understand. If you do, I hope it's brilliant for you.

Where do you go to get massage? Here it's very expensive unless you go to school a a massage school. Maybe I will look for one.

Sounds like the agency lady was very helpful with needs for household items, budgeting.

Can understand you not liking smoke coming into your place, but being sensitive to smokers. Are there rules about where people can smoke? It's really not fair of them to smoke where other residents' health will be affected.

Glad you are beginning to accept your self as being okay as is, yet desiring changes. I have to keep at the accepting myself part these days.

Maybe since you got the dishes, laundry, bed done, you can take a break before tackling unpacking. How about a reward?

Hello there

I am feeling much more comfortable after massage. Hope you find affordable person to help you. I see a female who works from an office literally just up the road. After health insurance rebate, I can budget for once a month, sometimes 3 weeks. Today I commented I'd like to have enough money to see her weekly

Saw GP. Got antibiotics for taking an hour prior to dental appointment. He wrote me a new referral for T

Haven't done any further unpacking

So tired. Am very tired of being tired.

Wishing you and Tula a great weekend
