Anyone ever have an achy body?

Post by wabbit »

Sometimes my body just aches with pain. Joints and muscles kind of like having a bad flu. I've felt like this since my teens. Worse now in my late 40s. Seems worse than most I know. Had some specialist tests that were inconclusive. As a child I was abused in all ways listed in this category plus sexually. The last few months memories of the abuse in this catgory have been arising. The achy pain seems worse the more I remember the abuse. Maybe it is coincidence. Anyone else ever experience anything like that?

Hi, rabbit,
Cool name!
Yes, I had all over body aches which wouldn't go away. When I finally got prescribed antidepressants, the aches were gone from taking the meds.
Like you, I'd been abused in all these ways, too.

I don't know what might work for you. The body holds memories of abuse, even if they don't come as 'thought memories'.
Not saying that I know what's happening with
your body aches, wabbit.
I hope you find a way to help with the pain.

Hi wabbit

Welcome to isurvive. I really hope you find the support and caring you need.

I too have pain across all my body. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia (also known as FMS - fibromyalgia syndrome). This is just a fancy way of saying that I have widespread pain with an unknown cause. A number of different things have been ruled out using various tests. Personally, I think most of my physical pain comes from the fact that my body has gotten so used to being in pain that it has become over sensitive. I agree with what there said. The body remembers the abuse that was inflicted. Personally, I wouldn't say it is a coincidence that your pain levels have increased as you remember more of your past.

I hope this is helpful to you.

With caring
