I know that there are many people here who miss our Fearless Leader very much, and changes to the site, especially as grand as this one, bring that grief and longing into a sort of spotlight.
I think our fearless leader would be tremendously proud of how well we have pulled together over the past few months and continued to do just what she always wanted us to do ... chase our dreams, spread our wings, and fly, leaning on each other for support when we need it.
I also think that even though she is not here to personally place her physical touch on each post, the spirit of generosity and care the pervades this site, the way people offer help, support, and advice freely ... I think all of that is due to her setting those things as priorities and guides for us to follow.
The culture of every site is different. I have not seen another site that is quite like this one, and I attribute that to our fearless leader's work in creating it to be this way, her unfailing commitment to keeping it safe and healthy, and the willingness of our new co-directors to step up and work so very hard to continue her work with just the same commitment to safety, generosity, and nurturing that she started. They are not really "new" in the sense that strangers came here to take over. They knew her very well, and they love and miss her, and it seems to me that they are doing all they can to follow her guide as we go forward.
I never really thought of her as being limited to the words on the screen. She was so much larger than that, larger than life, really, in so, so many ways.
I know that her spirit is here, and that was always the biggest part of her to me.... that strong and courageous, yet gentle spirit that permeated all that she did. That is what is still here, so, for me, she is still very much here, too.
I miss her, too, though I was not as fortunate as many other members to have a close relationship with her. I just wanted to share these thoughts and extend my sympathies and understanding again to everyone who is finding the changes here to be a bitter reminder of a tremendous loss.
We go on, as best we can, knowing that she would not want us to stop moving forward. I feel that somewhere nearby, she is smiling on us as we continue to take those steps toward wholeness.
