New Member and Scared
Hello All,
I am new to isurvive and forums in general. I don't know what to expect but hoping great things.
I have held in secret my past sexual abuse for over 14 years and have only now decided it is time to find myself and sort my head out. I will eventually tell my story in time but as of yet I am still coming to terms with it myself in therapy.
I am opening up myself in a huge way talking on this forum and I am extremely scared. I know there are loads of kind, friendly and supportive people on here and I just hope I can help and support all you as much as you all will for me.
Hello everyone, and I'm glad to start my recovery.

Re: New Member and Scared
Hello. I'm more or less new here too, but I wanted to say welcome.
I've been where you are today. I remember when I finally came to terms with my own abuse (I had hit rock bottom) and finally reached out for help. It's been almost 4 years now and I've found myself very near where I started all those years ago. The tools in my toolbox are a little better now, but last week I hit a real low spot. Luckily I have those tools and an idea as to where to go. Maybe it's less like starting over and more like making my second lap? I don't know.
Good luck. Don't be afraid to reach out for help. It makes a difference.

Re: New Member and Scared
Well hello to both of you searching and scare,
You both have made a nice start at isurvive. It helps if nothing else to know you aren't the only one that were abused. There are lots of us here. You aren't alone. We were hurt. Still as survivors we are left holding the pain, shame and burden. It was never ours to own. Yet we carry it slowly learning to let it go where it belongs. So thanks for joining us. You will find companionship for the road to healing.
with care,
Harmony

Hi Searching_for_Hope,
I applaud you for taking steps to work on You. It was a big deal for me to join this forum, and took a little time to really open up. It took a lot of words like what Harmony shared. I hope that this community becomes a positive place for you.

Hello Searching for hope and Scarecrow too
Welcome to the forum. Everyone here is so supportive. Well done in taking the step to reach out to others. I've found a lot of support from other survivors here and it's a little less lonely to know there are others who have been there and know what you are going through.
Sending support to you both. You are not alone and you are survivors. This is a safe place where no one will judge you.
With care,
Hoopgirl
