Re: For the Newbies and Those Thinking of Joining
Hello Wings,
Almost everything you mentioned I've experienced at different levels. I think that my spirit animal is a turtle because of everything that happened to me. I appreciate your candidness and willingness to share. I'm a newbie as of today. All of the emotions you mentioned I went through before posting this...my first ever on this site. I want to gain support yet be able to help others that are at different stages of healing than I am. My name is L8Bloomer. As a result of everything that I have gone through, it is an apt name for sure.
In some respects I was forced to bloom too quickly and hide too many things too early. In other respects, I have held so many things inside so long that it has been a slow, late (as measured by society) blooming process as it is still hard to not hold things inside...still learning to trust and I'm over 50 (!!)...I did go through resources like 'The Courage to Heal' and 'The Dance of Anger'...mountains of journaling and self-reflection...therapy...support groups...then I start feeling so selfish and self-absorbed...I need to be focused on my family (husband and kids)...but what good am I to them outwardly if I'm not working to heal inwardly? I need to love myself so that I can really love someone else...right? I am hoping that I can give as much as I gain from everyone here. Thanks for your post.

Hi L8Bloomer,
Welcome to a friendly part of the Web.
Yes, working towards inner healing as we look after family, participate in present moment, can be challenging.
May you find the support you want and deserve.

New here also though not to the healing journey. The road has been long. I keep falling back into the open grave of less than and shattered. Tonight I am feeling broken I hear you say that you understand---you have been here. I believe you. Now if I can take it in without denying my worthlessness
Not sure what I am trying to convey
just here.
Thank you for your pressence

Hi Ho'omana,
Understand about healing journey being a process (sadly not linear in my experience).
Welcome to a friendly part of the Web.
Please take a few moments to look around, discover what resonates with you.
Wishing you very well in all respects,

Hi Wings,
I'm sure it isn't the first time you've heard this, but it's like you got right inside my head, into the deepest parts of me I never show anyone.
I'm new here, not sure yet how much I'm comfortable sharing as I have never wanted to bother people, give people the images I have replaying in my head constantly, be on the receiving end of withdrawal from people when I have told them etc etc. Anyway, here I am, watching and reading the experiences of others and finally feeling like perhaps I'm not on my own.

AIiw,
Welcome to this wonderfully supportive place. You aren’t alone here. There will be no “bothering” people if you decide to share. Take your time and share if you are comfortable. Or just reading and learning from what others share is perfectly ok too. I hope you find the comfort and support you are looking for here.
Wishing you peace...iwillthrive
